What is the International invention competition "Sahasak Nimavum"?
This is a competition for inventors and innovators from different countries. Here you will present your socially important invention to the world, will get professional feedback from world scientists and researchers, will find like-minded people and will compete for valuable prizes.
Do you know how to create an agricultural robot, a smart sensor for smoke or a pocket ultrasound machine? If yes, then Sahasak Nimavum is for you!
Who is this competition for? Where does the event take place?
Sahasak Nimavum invites students of 9-11 forms to participate with their inventions that can solve current world problems.
The competition is held in Sri Lanka (Colombo) with the support of the International Federation of Inventors' Associations IFIA and the Commission of inventors of Sri Lanka. Since 2019, the competition has become international and welcomes innovators from all over the world.
Why do I need that?
To tell the world about your invention, to meet scientists and like-minded people from other countries and to get feedback from specialists that will help you improve your project. You will also practise English, improve your communication skills and project management.
What projects can be submitted to the competition?
It is important for your invention to concern the development of technology and solve some pressing global issues.
Your project must fit in one of the thematic groups. Choose your topic and apply for the competition! Public safety, welfare and national defence: for inventors of powerful military drones.
